Frequently Asked Questions: Warrior Life Youth Athletics

Summer Youth Athletics at Warrior Life

  • Class size is limited to 12 athletes. Register here to reserve.
  • What makes this different from a sports camp?
    • This is not a recreational sports camp or general fitness program. It is structured athletic development coaching focused on building movement quality, strength, coordination, and long-term athletic ability. Athletes are trained using progressive methods similar to those used in sport performance environments, with an emphasis on individual development rather than group games or general activity.
  • Does my child need sports experience?
    • No experience is required. Athletes are coached from their current level, focusing on fundamental movement skills such as squatting, hinging, balance, coordination, and control.
  • Is this suitable for beginners?
    • Yes. Coaching is individualized, and progressions are adapted to each athlete’s ability, coordination, and readiness. Every athlete is supported appropriately within the group.
  • What sports does this support?
    • All sports, including dance, gymnastics, martial arts. The program builds transferable athletic qualities including strength, speed, agility, coordination, balance, and movement efficiency.
  • What should my child bring?
    • Water bottle
    • Indoor athletic shoes
    • Comfortable training clothing
  • What if my child is shy or unsure in groups?
    • A small group size (12 maximum) ensures every athlete is actively coached, supported, and engaged throughout the session. The environment is structured, positive, and designed so no athlete is overlooked.
  • Is this a competitive program?
    • No. The focus is individual improvement and personal progression. Athletes are encouraged to focus on their own development while learning consistent training habits in a supportive group setting.
  • Is strength training safe for kids?
    • Yes. Training is age-appropriate and technique-based. Athletes begin with bodyweight and controlled movement patterns before any resistance is added. Safety, supervision, and proper progression are built into every session.

For more information about strength training for kids, see the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) position statement on Youth Resistance Training.
